Qualifications

  • Post-graduate or Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in environmental/engineering/water resources consulting.
  • Experience in the design and execution of drilling projects (mud rotary, sonic, auger, direct push), including planning, coordination, logging, and well design.
  • Experience in the field executing well sampling programs utilizing widely accepted and alternative sampling methods (i.e. no-purge, low flow, and dissolved gas sampling).
  • Experience working in rugged, physically demanding field environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in aquifer testing programs, including planning and execution of single well response and pumping tests.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, delivering quality results, while under pressure.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
  • Drive for continuous improvement, including identification, evaluation, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Practical knowledge of working in remote settings, and mechanical aptitude, are considered assets.
  • Experience with project management and customer liaison are considered assets.
  • Candidate must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.

This is a full-time position located in one of our Alberta offices. Our Groundwater Practice within the Water Service Line is seeking an energetic, dynamic, and motivated mid-level hydrogeologist with strong technical and communication skills who is eager to join a growing group of professional hydrogeologists. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 5 years experience in consulting hydrogeology, excellent time management and priority-setting skills, flexibility, and sound interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will carry out varied hydrogeologic field and office assignments requiring familiarity with a range of associated project tasks, including participating in project planning, field coordination and execution, task management, data analysis, and reporting, under the guidance of Senior and Principal Hydrogeologists.
