The person in this role is the main liaison between contractor(s) and the home office engineering and ensures the Contractor has all related information required to carry out the works appropriately in relation to their specific discipline. Generally, provides technical /engineering support and advice to Construction work, responds to Technical issues through RFI, reviews technical documents, and follows up to rectify the gaps or problems.
- Participate in field site review(s) prior to the start of construction activities and verify documentation is available for construction start.
- The main liaison between site and home office engineering for all technical items.
- Coordinate with Engineering regarding the technical approval of all General Contractor’s submittal documentation.
- Input and review of all temporary works for example, crane pads, open excavations, trenches, platforms except scaffolding that will be reviewed by the respective SME.
- Coordinate and monitor design documents issuance to ensure continuity of construction activities.
- Review and respond to field Request For Information, preparing, submitting and follow-up of RFIs concerning his field of expertise.
- Provides technical support to Field Personal and Contractors' regarding interpretation of design documents and procedures within their field of experience.
- Provide technical assistance to QA/QC and Project Controls to ensure contractors and suppliers have satisfied all technical requirements for their respective scopes.
- Provides constructability input to engineering as directed by the Construction Manager.
- Provide Technical input, review and complete all Field Change Notices, Non-Conformance and RFI reports.
- Participate as Technical Expert during audit for discipline related activities Review and comment on contractor's method statements.
- Identifies and elevates potential changes in contract scope.
- Provides Construction Engineering input to the Project Completion Report Supports control at site, technical approvals and problem resolution Monitors the development of “As Built” Drawings.
- Provide spot surveillance of craft discipline to ensure high quality standards of workmanship are maintained
- Audits the Contractor’s ‘As-Built’ drawing records.
- Where necessary, provides off-site support.
Qualifications
- Technical and Industry Experience
- Candidate should have design engineering experience on similar projects as a HVAC Field engineer, leading to appropriate technical knowledge of field engineering ; preferably in Mining & Industry
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
- A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Competent use of mechanical engineering specific software.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Substantial technical land practical experience in mechanical engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
Required:
- A Recognized and relevant engineering degree.
