Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years direct Human Resources experience, specifically including employee relations and investigations.

  • Certificate, diploma or degree in Human Resources is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Employment Standards, Human Rights Legislation and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations is required.

  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, mediation and communication skills required. Ability to work well under pressure, deal with difficult people and de-escalate potentially volatile situations.

  • Industrial construction specific experience is an asset. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients at all levels of the organization and influence decisions.

  • Ability to establish credibility quickly and be decisive utilizing well-developed critical thinking/analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Collaborative team player with demonstrated professional and emotional maturity and judgment to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.

  • Self-starter and able to work both in a team environment and independently.

  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.

  • Results oriented with solid time management/organization skills.

  • Flexible, adaptable, learns quickly demonstrates courage and self-awareness.

  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
