We're seeking an experienced and driven Head of Operations to lead the strategic and day-to-day operational performance of Collie Power Station to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of services in line with Worley values.

As Head of Operations, you will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and performance of all operational activities at Collie Power Station. Reporting directly to the Station Manager, your goal will be to ensure optimal plant performance, safety compliance, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence.

This role sits within in our Power Services division which provides operations and maintenance services to over 30 power generation assets across Australia. Guided by our vision – working together to deliver a sustainable and low-carbon energy future – Worley Power Services is a leading asset management partner for complex and critical infrastructure.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, manage and develop operation teams.
  • Oversee all aspects of the plant operations.
  • Drive efficiency improvements and plant performance optimisation.
  • Deliver operational and contractual targets effectively within agreed budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and health & safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other teams to deliver seamless and reliable power generation.
  • Assist with outage planning, execution, and recovery processes.
  • Assist with operational budgets preparation and manage cost control initiatives.

What you’ll have

  • Significant previous experience within the Power generation industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or related field) or relevant trade qualification.
  • Deep technical understanding of thermal power generation processes and systems.
  • Previous experience in a senior operations or plant management role.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of operational safety, environmental, and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Reside locally within a 1 hour drive of Collie Power Station.
