A significant contribution is to Energy Transition is delivered by energy saving in the industry applying cogeneration for combined production of heat and power. Eventually these plants can be converted to hydrogen firing.

Worley Consulting is seeking a consultant with 1-5 years of experience as a process engineer, to work within our Power and New Energy practice. The candidate will be a member of the team providing strategic and technical consulting services to the process and power industry and financial sectors. He or she will also support Worley’s FEED projects as Subject Matter Experts on energy related aspects.

The candidate will have educational background in mechanical/process engineering with specialization into energy conversion systems/power generation, based on gas turbine and steam turbine technology.

The role provides opportunities to work together with experienced colleagues to deliver tailored bespoke services to suit a diverse set of clients, working to deliver services, participating in business development and to be a key member of the practice.

As a Consultant you will support the delivery of consultancy assignments for energy projects in the industry and utility sector.

Graduate Technical Consultant, Power & New Energy

Responsibilities:

  • Execution of the following technical activities for power generation, energy and utilities systems:
  • Mass energy balance calculations and optimization.
  • Definition of Basis of Design and Technical Specification.
  • High level Definition of the plant configuration.
  • Equipment specification and selection (incl. duty specifications).
  • Delivery of consultancy services, such as Feasibility and Conceptual Studies, Financial Models,
  • Support marketing and business development activities for consulting services.
  • Develop towards a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ for energy conversion, energy optimization, CO2 capture, Green Hydrogen and Power conversion technologies across Worley Consulting and the wider Worley.
  • Support the growth of the consulting business.
Experience:

The candidate must demonstrate education and competency in the following:

  • Educational back ground in process engineering (MSC or Bachelor) 
  • Research/graduation subjects in.
    • Configuration, concept and feasibility studies
    • Energy conversion and optimization calculations.
    •   CO2 capture, Hydrogen production, fuel cells, thermodynamics
  • Good communication skills
  • Eager to learn
  • Strong self-starter and motivated to succeed
  • Team player
