Graduate Environmental Scientist

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Perform up to 70% various types of fieldwork including but not limited to surface water/groundwater monitoring and sampling, soil sampling, drilling, test pitting, remedial excavations, and reclamation.
- Logging, texturing soils and operating various types of environmental related field equipment.
- Collection of accurate field data using best practices and following standard operating procedures.
- Support and assist Project Managers in all aspects of project execution including coordination and procurement of project supplies.
- Preparation and execution of technical reports.
- Keen safety awareness.
- Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility or outdoor field environment.
- Walk long distances in uneven terrain and under varying adverse weather conditions.
- Travel as required for various field programs.
Qualifications
- Recognized BSc, MSc or Diploma degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or related field from an accredited university or college. One remaining semester is acceptable.
- May have Internship experience with environmental science or engineering firm or setting.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of environmental science, mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Willing to self-relocate to the designated Worley office location.

As part of the Worley Graduate Community and under supervision and mentorship within the Liability, Management & Restoration (LM&R) department, you will support and assist Project Managers in all aspects of project execution including coordination, environmental monitoring, water and soil sampling of remediation and decommissioning sites.
This is a full-time position based in the Edmonton Worley office.
Position is anticipated to start January 2025 or May 2025.
