This is a remote/ rotational position, working two weeks on/ two weeks off (day shift),in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:

Under general supervision, purchases standard and specialty materials and equipment and coordinates procurement support functions.   Must be capable of applying standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related purchasing tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

·       Receives and reviews new purchase requisitions and requisition changes from engineering for goods or services to be purchased. 

·       Consults with subject matter experts to clarify material requirements.

·       Prepares and issues requests for quotation. 

·       Obtains and reviews bids and proposals from suppliers and coordinates technical review with engineering. 

·       Negotiates best delivery, terms of payment and purchase conditions, tax exemptions, price escalation, and other factors impacting price.

·       Assists in the development of bidders lists and qualifications.

·       Prepares and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ’s) for non-engineered, commodity items.

·       Prepares bid tabs, purchase orders and change orders for non-engineered, commodity items.

·       Maintains comprehensive and auditable purchase order files, primarily in standard, hard copy format.

·       Prepares bid analyses and recommends a supplier according to company established criteria, product-specific criteria, and guidance from senior purchasing staff.

·       Prepares purchase order documents and authorizes purchases within budgetary limitations; obtains approvals for purchases beyond personal authorization ceiling.

·       Works with expediters and accounts payable personnel to resolve problems related to purchase orders.

·       Updates Buyer’s Log/Procurement Plan reports in Worley’s electronic materials management system.

·       May expedite materials, develop cost information for preparation of estimates and bid proposals, and contact suppliers to resolve problems regarding invoice discrepancies.

·       May compare/obtain freight quotations and make shipping arrangements.

·       Maintains comprehensive and auditable purchase order files, primarily in standard, hard copy format.

·       Tracks and reports supplier performance.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:


Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:

·       Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.

·       Must stand throughout evaluation.

·       Aerobic capacity evaluation via 3-minute step test.

·       Sit and reach and range of motion evaluations.

·       Lift 25 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.

·       Lift 25 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.

·       Carry 25 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

Required Qualifications:

·       Possess ability to organize and prioritize work and meet job deadlines.

·       One to two (1-2) years’ experience working as an expediter and/or field buyer.

·       High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

·       Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.

·       North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·       One to two (1-2) years’ procurement or relevant working experience.
