Job Purpose:
Provides hands-on Installation, maintenance, repair, testing and inspection of fixed and portable fire suppression systems and equipment. The position requires a rotational work schedule and supports multiple Hilcorp assets. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Hilcorp assets is provided. Room and meals are provided while at the respective asset.
Essential Job Functions:
· Inspects, services, maintains, and repairs portable and wheeled fire extinguishers as well as installed fire protection systems (Halon, FE-13, Dry Chemical, CO2, Deluge, Foam, Sprinkler, Standpipes, Hydrants, Division Valves and Fine Water Mist)
· Performs some installation work to meet client and appropriate code specifications.
· Conducts performance tests on facility firewater systems and mobile fire apparatus.
· Record, maintain and evaluate test data
· Uses and cares for tools and equipment employed to testing and maintenance of supported fire suppression systems
· Examine work and materials for compliance with job and safety specifications
· Attend various components of technical, developmental and safety training
· Promote safe work practices and implement company and client safety policies for work crew, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation
· Demonstrate support for the company's environmental management system
· Mentors lower-level technicians
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
· Knowledge and thorough understanding of water based and special hazards system installation, maintenance, and testing
· Ability to use hand tools, powered tools, and equipment applicable to Fire and Gas related work
· Able to read and interpret drawings, P&ID's, specifications, vendor data, and technical data sheets, etc.
· Able to demonstrate general knowledge of NFPA Standards, the Alaska Administrative Code, and OSHA safe work practices associated with safety systems
· Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair of water based and special hazard systems
· Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
· Well versed in general operations and safety practices and policies, as well as specific knowledge of procedures and standards applicable to the Fire and Gas craft technical and safety policies
· Thorough knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot fire and gas suppression systems
· Ability to mentor lower-level technicians
· Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate
· Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures
· Ability to demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system

Minimum Qualifications:
· NICET tested or certified through NICET Level 2 Water Based or Special Hazards
· State of Alaska fire systems permit water based or special hazards (2B or C OR 3B or C).
· A minimum of two (2) years of construction or industrial facility maintenance required and/or an associated degree in Fire Protection Technology (not Fire Science)
· State of Alaska Level III Fire extinguisher permit within 90 days of hire
· Ability to mentor lower level technicians
· Ability to interpret P&ID's
· Advanced knowledge and ability to troubleshoot fire and gas suppression systems
· High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
· Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer
· North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed
Preferred Qualifications:
· RAT Certification preferred
· Two (2) years Fire and Gas experience in the petrochemical industry or experience in hazardous locations
· Two (2) years of North Slope arctic work experience
