As a Financial Analyst I, you will be responsible for reporting to the Head of Planning, this is a key role in the Group Planning team that will be supporting the transition to reporting under Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) by analysing the effects of climate-related risks and opportunities on our financial prospects and business strategy through the use of financial modelling. Additionally, this role will support the Group’s financial planning activities, including the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes, strategic financial planning, financial target setting, scenario planning and investment modelling.

To succeed in this role, you should have experience in Systems knowledge and expertise, ideally Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Planning. Experience delivering in an ASX listed organization or in large-scale, geographically dispersed fast paced environments. Exposure to climate and sustainability reporting. Big 4 accounting firm experience.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Financial Analyst I to join our Malaysia team.

The role responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the transition to reporting under ASRS.
  • Perform financial modelling and analyses on the impact of climate-related risks and opportunities (including governance/verification to support scenario assumption).
  • Support the annual budget and quarterly forecast process, including coordination activities, consolidated analysis and reporting to Group Management and the Board.
  • Collaborate, partner and provide value adding analysis to other group functions (i.e. Investor Relations, Treasury, Strategy, Sales, Sustainability, Remuneration, Risk and M&A) to support decision making
  • Support other areas of the business with analysis to support decision making.
  • Build effective and reliable relationships with key stakeholders across multiple time zones (key locations: Australia, Houston, London, India, KL, Singapore).

What you’ll have

  • Tertiary qualified in Business, Accounting or Finance or a similar discipline.
  • CA, CPA or CMA qualification.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines across multiple time zones.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modelling.
  • Advanced Business writing skills – i.e. ability to convey detailed financial analysis and key messages succinctly for the Board of Directors.
  • Ability to build appropriate, constructive, and effective business relationships throughout the organization.
  • Team player; demonstrates the Worley value of “Stronger Together” in all interactions with the immediate team and its stakeholders.
  • Must have the ability to summarise and transform data into concise, clear reporting that delivers commercial insight to management.
  • Rises to the challenge’ and owns all deliverables and workstreams within their remit.
  • Must be a self-starter, with high level of curiosity and ability to work autonomously to trouble shoot/problem solve.
  • Proactively identifies and takes ownership of opportunities to improve existing processes as well as reporting deliverables across the Group.
