Worley is seeking expressions of interest from qualified professionals for roles that are contingent on the award of upcoming contracts. While these positions are not immediately available, your application will be reviewed and kept on file for future consideration.
Purpose
As a Piping Designer II at Worley, you will contribute to the design and drafting of piping systems, supporting both new and existing facility projects. Working under moderate supervision, you’ll collaborate with engineers and other disciplines to deliver high-quality, accurate designs that meet client needs and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in interactive planning meetings to support schedule development and establish project milestones.
- Review and follow client procedures, project specifications, and standards.
- Identify required project information and maintain schedules through the preparation of “Needs Lists.”
- Use 3D modeling software (PDMS/E3D/Navisworks) to monitor design quality and progress.
- Coordinate piping design efforts with other engineering disciplines.
- Take part in design reviews to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Perform field walkdowns of existing facilities to verify P&IDs, take elevation measurements, identify tie-points, and route piping through existing structures.
- Transfer field data into PDMS/E3D models and update designs accordingly.
- Work with laser scanning data to identify tie-points and design piping systems around existing obstructions within PDMS/E3D.
- Execute projects in brownfield environments, managing obstructions and complex design constraints.
Technical & Industry Experience
Hands-on experience with PDMS/E3D modeling and drafting.
Strong understanding of P&IDs and their application in production and facility design.
Ability to generate piping isometrics using PDMS design tools.
Experience preparing and verifying man-hour estimates to support cost control.
Ability to coordinate and integrate piping deliverables with other engineering disciplines.
Field experience in operating facilities with significant design challenges and obstructions.
Experience working with laser scanning technologies for tie-point identification and piping layouts.
Required participation in safety programs and presentations.
Education & Credentials
Associate’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent technical diploma). Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred but not required.
Familiarity with SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred).
