As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible to responsible for safe working practices both personally and in their designs, using the Worley framework.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience in mining construction project, with at least min. 15 years' experience in construction.

What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Construction Manager to join our team.
The role responsibilities include:
· Support the Project Manager and the Company’s HSE personnel in the implementation of the HSE Management Plan in the field.
· Assisting in maintaining the Construction portion of the project schedule.
· Establishment of the project site facilities.
· Managing and administering of the site contracts to achieve safety, quality, budget, schedule objectives and progress reporting.
· Managing interfaces between engineering disciplines relative to construction work package plans.
· Establishes a liaison position between Construction, Operational Readiness, and Operations to ensure construction schedules align with the appropriate priority activities.
· Establish the “Required on Site” (ROS) dates for all equipment and working with the Supply Chain Management team to ensure suppliers/vendors are accountable for delivery and meeting agreed performance metrics in support of the project schedule.
· Knowledge of Testing and Completion of construction.
· Knowledge of Handover methodologies to Operational Readiness and/or Operations.
· Participate in Project Risk Management Processes including in management reviews of assurance findings. The construction manager will personally verify risk mitigations and preventive/corrective actions for material issues that are timely and effective.
· Liaison with Customer personnel and resolution of issues that may arise.
· Liaison with Site Personnel and Procurement team to obtain schedule and progress information.
· Schedule information, forecast, review, analysis, and update.
· Highlight issues and trends having the potential to impact project progress.
· Manage response to technical queries (TQs) and other requests from site in a timely manner.
· Review and verification of progress claims and claims for variations.
· To participate in management reviews of the Project's HSE Plan and associated documentation for ongoing suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness.
· Visibly lead by personal example to support the implementation of project assurance and HSE activities and initiatives.
· Participate in assurance activities including risk related sessions such as HazID and JHA and surveillance activities.
· To ensure that all personnel receive the appropriate HSE training.
· To ensure that all plant, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is supplied /maintained and is fit for purpose.
· To ensure proper reporting and investigation of incidents by Supervision which results in a near miss, personal injury, harm to the environment or damage to equipment is initiated and corrective actions followed through.
· To participate and ensure Supervisors implement the HAZID requirements for work activities.
· To participate and ensure that Contractor supervision and labor conduct JHAs for nominated work activities.
· To participate in Contractor evaluation, selection, and alignment sessions.
· To participate in HazID and JHA sessions associated with the works.
· To attend, and participate in, pre-start, and site HSE committee meetings where required.
· To challenge unsafe behavior and correct inappropriate HSE performance.
· To understand and apply all legislative HSE requirements.
· To have and apply a full working knowledge of HSE Management Systems, e.g. JHAs, etc.
· To consult on and resolve HSE issues including, leading incident investigations, etc.
· To generate contingency plans to respond to emergencies.
What you’ll have
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in construction.
- Prior experience in mining construction projects is advantageous, particularly civil infrastructure / earthworks.
- Engineering Degree in a relevant field or equivalent
- Demonstrable commitment to HSE Management in a project and construction environment
- Promote and drive the involvement of Construction in areas of technical design, schedule, preliminary execution planning, and cost estimating.
- Participate in the early development of the overall Construction execution strategy for projects including development of the Contracting Plan, working in consultation with Business Unit / Project Managers.
- Provide construction input into proposals, tenders and cost estimates and present our CM capability to clients.
- Sub – contractor management including evaluating sub-contractor capability and assisting as applicable in the evaluation of contractor proposals, and establishment of appropriate controls with the Project Controls group.
- Develop familiarity and appreciation of capability and ongoing workload of construction contractors in the Region.
