Equipment Operator/ Roustabout - Roads and Pads (Rotational Schedule) - Prudhoe Bay, AK
This is a remote/ rotational position, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:
The Roads and Pads Equipment Operator / Roustabout performs a variety of manual and medium-skilled to skilled tasks required to support the movement of materials, equipment and supplies between field locations and operating facilities. The Roustabout/Equipment Operator will operate a wide range of heavy industrial equipment including, but not limited to graders, loaders, snowblowers, maxi hauls, dozers, excavators, and tankers, in support of the Greater Prudhoe Bay roads and pads systems.
Essential Job Functions:
· Complete DOT pre- and post-trip inspections of trucks/trailers/heavy equipment prior to use, which includes checking the oil, fuel, general and visual inspection of the entire chassis (depending on type of each equipment being operated) windshield, mirrors, blade, tracks, wheel rims, thumping each tire and lug nuts.
· Complete a job specific task hazard assessment (Pre-Task Safety Plan) prior to starting any job.
· Notify lead/dispatch of any recognized faulty equipment and red tag for repair.
· Adhere to all North slope client and Worley’s health, safety and environment policies and procedures always.
· Safely secure all loads in accordance with DOT and company policies and best practices
· Safely drive equipment to dispatched locations.
· Maintain equipment in good/clean working order.
· Maintain communications with dispatch and clients.
· Attend various technical, developmental and safety trainings.
· Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
· Ability to identify and safely operate standard construction and maintenance hand and power tools.
· Tend to pumps, compressors, generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials, lubricate machinery, equipment, and parts.
· Clean and prepare shops to eliminate possible hazards.
· Clean tools, equipment, machinery, and work areas.
· Perform manual labor including cleanup, “stick-picking” shoveling, compacting, and backfilling excavations.
· Provides assistance to other work crew members as directed.
· Demonstrate support for company and client HSE management system.
· Ability to complete a task hazard awareness assessment and administer mitigation to identified hazards.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work as a part of a team and follow work directions.
· Able to effectively communicate with fellow workers and alternate.
· Capable of learning various company and client safety and operational procedures and demonstrate required competencies.
· Basic knowledge of construction machines, equipment, and tools, including design, uses, repair and maintenance.
· Medium Skilled, Competent in the operation of a front-end loader and various tractor trailer combinations utilized in road maintenance and civil work.
· Safely operate equipment to remove snow from pads and access roads.
· Knowledge of the functional operation, purpose, capabilities, and limitations of any piece of equipment qualified to operate.
· Ability to read and understand the results and what each gauge signifies on each piece of equipment being operated.
· Ability to read and understand job descriptions, safety/technical manuals, procedures, maps, permits, JSA’s (Job Safety Analysis), task hazard assessment cards (Pre-Task Safety Plan), safety/warning signs and demonstrate competency, either oral or written, as required.
· Must display sufficient oral communication skills to be able to give and receive emergency instructions, oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.
· Ability to complete a task hazard awareness assessment and administer mitigation.
· Ability to safely drive, back and operate heavy industrial equipment in congested areas and in severe weather conditions.
· Knowledge of standard DOT regulations.
· Must be able to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
· Ability to safely climb ladders of various heights.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
· Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
· Standing for prolonged periods of time.
· Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
· Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
· Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
· Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
· Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
· Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
· Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
· Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Required Qualifications:
· Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement and the ability to be insured by Worley’s auto insurer.
· Current DOT medical card.
· High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
· North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Construction, or prior North Slope experience.
