This is a remote/ rotational position, working nights, on a three weeks on and three weeks off schedule, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:

 

Reporting directly to the Area Superintendent, the Equipment Operator Foreman (Specialty) trains and provides technical direction and leadership to work crews in the proper use of equipment that supports the movement and transportation of oilfield related support equipment, including but not limited to upright tanks, open top tanks, tiger tanks, rig mats, tubular loads, and other assorted heavy equipment. This position also provides technical work direction for various types of fluids hauling equipment in support of drilling and intervention activities.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

·       Supervise of one or more trade groups in a particular discipline for the Fluid Hauling operation, which requires labor force disciplines trained and experienced in oil field operations in support of operating vac trucks for Drilling, Wells, Projects and Operations, Water Tankers, infield delivery of chemicals, and other work that may be directed by 3rd Party Clients, including but not limited to Fueling Operations.

·       Support Superintendents, Operations Manager and Director in decision making, development and implementation of specific guidelines, procedures, policies and measurable goals to help achieve company HSE and efficiency objectives.

·       Provide HSE guidance and leadership to their team leaders and leads by example.

·       Routinely perform safety and productivity observations; shop, field, and vehicle inspections; and attend various components of technical, developmental and safety training.

·       Demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system objectives and the ability to maintain positive support with our contract objectives and goals.

·       Maintain direct regular contact with client representatives to determine their work requirements and have the ability to position the workforce to respond.

·       Plan and supervise workforce which may consist of leadmen and/or craft in performance of assigned work activities, including determination of manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, work schedules and documentation of actual hours worked.

·       Coordinate assigned work with other groups or departments, different crafts, or other contractors.

·       Resolve disputes and recommend and administer coaching and counseling sessions and deliver disciplinary action as required.

·       Assist in resolving performance problems, such as lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc., as required.

·       Monitor training and compliance with client and company safety and environmental procedures and policies, and document and ensure that corrective measures are implemented when required.

·       Trains and or provides direction to crew.

·       Ensure all crew members have the required skills and abilities to perform job tasks safely and correctly.

·       Assign a mentor to new crew members and verify that mentoring process is followed and completed.

·       Regularly communicate expectations to crew with respect to work execution, safety, procedures, efficiency and encourage open communication from team members.    

·       Make certain that all incidents are promptly reported.

·       Continually seek improvement in work processes.

·       Attend and participate in planning meetings.

·       Visits all areas of responsibility and job sites daily. 

·       Serves as single point of contact for casual crew and coordinates maintenance activities with other crafts.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

·       Knowledge of computerized components in various kinds of machinery and (former experience) being able to operate them is a plus, in being considered for employment by organization.

·       Knowledge of the functional operation, purpose, capabilities, and limitations of any piece of equipment qualified to operate.   

·       Knowledge of safe equipment operations and maintenance of equipment.

·       Ability to read, understand and communicate to others information relating to safety/technical manuals, procedures, permits, JSA(s) (Job Safety Analysis), SETA cards (Safety-Environmental Task Assessment), safety/warning signs.

·       Ability to display sufficient oral communication skills to give and receive emergency instructions, safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.

·       Ability to read and understand the results and what each gauge signifies on each piece of equipment being operated.

·       Ability to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.

·       Ability to demonstrate the safe accessories within the range of each piece of equipment operated. 

·       Ability to hear audible safety alarms and warnings.

·       Ability to use hands and fingers with sufficient dexterity to perform close, exacting, and repetitive tasks.

·       Knowledge of standard DOT regulations.

·       Knowledge of fluids hauling in support of drilling rig and intervention activities.

·       Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate.

 

Physical Demand/Work Environment:

 

Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:

 

·       Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.

·       Standing for prolonged periods of time.

·       Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather

·       Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.

·       Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.

·       Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.

·       Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.

·       Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

·       Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.

·       Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Required Qualifications:

·       Valid Class A CDL driver’s license with HazMat endorsement and ability to be insured by Worley’s auto insurer. 

·       Current CDL/DOT medical card.

·       Five (5) years’ experience in operating various types of heavy equipment. 

·       Two (2) year supervisory experience directing an average crew size of five or more.

·       One (1) year experience working Office Suite programs (i.e. Word, Excel, & Outlook).

·       High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

·       North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·       Petrochemical, oilfield, or arctic experience.
