Environmental Project Manager

Worley Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Environmental Project Manager to join our dynamic team. Our ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in federal and Western Canada provincial regulations, environmental sciences, earth sciences, water resources, and/or environmental engineering.

The position will support all business for the Cold Lake, AB office.  However the qualified individual will be based in our Edmonton office with occasional travel to Cold Lake. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

·         Completion of Phase 1 and Phase 2 environmental site assessments.

·         Responsible for supporting an existing client portfolio.

·         Responsible for developing and maintaining positive and effective client relationships.

·         To support an integrated multi-disciplinary team of Worley personnel for the supply of Environmental services in accordance with agreed business requirements.

·         To provide strong HSE leadership.

·         To ensure clear agreement of client objectives, and that these are met or exceeded.

·         Establish consistent operations and work execution for the client.

·         To apply consistent operational metrics and management practices within the client team.

·         Support the implementation and execution of all work according to the project/contract requirements.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor or Master’s degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Soil Science, or related field from an accredited academic institution.

·         5+ years of project experience in environmental consulting and/or engineering environment.

·         Ability to present technical information, both written and verbally, in a concise and professional manner.

·         Demonstrated capability to coordinate and supervise field investigations.

·         Self-starter, flexible team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks and to coordinate staff.

·         Additional requirements include computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.

The following qualifications are considered an asset to the role:

·         Previous experience managing project and oil client portfolios.

·         Demonstrated capability to train, mentor and develop junior and intermediate scientists, field technician staff in regulatory approvals, permitting and project coordination and management.
