As a Site Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting major development projects, providing advice on environmental approvals, and developing and maintaining compliance programs throughout execution. We are looking for someone who is interested in a site role for up to 12 months, with possibility of extension.

What you’ll do
We are looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our team on Site.
The role responsibilities include:
- Provide experienced technical environmental advice to engineers, contractors and client representatives to ensure best project outcomes and compliance with environmental approvals and regulator requirements.
- Facilitate a collaborative performance and reporting framework ensuring project deadlines are met and stakeholders are kept informed on progress.
- Drive implementation of the project CEMP and EMS and efficiently manage risk assessments and continuous improvement of EMS. Defining, assessing and mitigating environmental risks.
- Raise informed improvement opportunities and identification of areas of risk.
- Provide interpretation of legislation and relevant compliance documentation.
- Advise on and contribute to sub-contractor management through input into scope development and oversee environmental compliance and performance.
- Be accountable for executing environmental monitoring programs, as well as responsible for Dust, Noise, Vibration, Vegetation monitoring and inspections and audits.
- Development of junior team members through training and mentorship opportunities and should also train Worley teams and contractors (inductions, land disturbance training, bio (identification).
- Manage the successful execution of the Land Disturbance Procedure.
- Compliance reporting including managing legal obligations and managing reporting on NGERS, waste, monitoring, Part V (licence reports).
- Advising contractors and project management team.
- Implementation of Heritage Protection Plans, working closely with Traditional Owners.
What you’ll have
- Understanding of Commonwealth environmental approvals framework and high degree of familiarity with State or Territory (preferred West Australian or NSW) environmental approvals compliance management.
- Significant experience in a similar role within natural resources industry or equivalent.
- Strong computer skills familiarity with GIS software, data capture and interpretation, EMS management and reporting.
- Demonstratable understanding of key environmental and social risks associated with natural resources projects.
- Strength in communication, building stakeholder relationships, collaboration and negotiation.
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, or related fields of study with experience in managing State and Commonwealth environmental approvals.
- Unrestricted drivers' license and working rights for Australia.
