Position Summary 

Able to work with other team members in execution of initial energization and testing of electrical equipment to validate that it is operating to specification and design intent. This position requires a working knowledge and background in low, medium, and High voltage equipment as well as, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with assistance and follow through to resolution.
They must be familiar with first time energization procedures, permitting, LOTO and LUN procedures. They participate in jobsite safety by evaluating all electrical risks; enforce safe practices; be proficient in all aspects of this discipline and testing requirements for electrical equipment. They must be able to utilize completions software in the execution of their scope.


Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate with other commissioning disciplines as required in the execution
of the testing scope.
• Troubleshooting electrical equipment and recommend solutions to problems
while progressing issues through to completion.
• Generate Electrical RFI’s as necessary in the execution of commissioning
electrical activities.
• Execute commissioning testing activities in alignment with available testing
criteria, engineering deliverables, testing equipment, and materials.
• Trouble shoots, disassembles, and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems.

• Certification in accordance with ANSI/NETA ETT, Standard for Certification of 
Electrical Testing Technicians Level 3 or higher, in electrical testing.
• Minimum 4 years industrial commissioning/maintenance industry experience
• NCEER Certified Plus (Preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, Single line drawings, 
P&ID’s, and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical testing requirements for, but not limited to: 
o Low, medium, Voltage Motor Control Center
o High Voltage Switchgear 
o Power Distribution Panels
o Power & Lighting circuits
o Relay & Control panels
o Low, medium, and high Voltage Motors
o Low Voltage MCC Starters
o Medium Voltage MCC Starters
o Low, medium, and high Voltage Disconnects
o Low and medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives

o Low, medium, and high Voltage Relay Testing
o Transformers
o Low and medium Voltage Automatic Transfer Switches
o Heat Trace and heat trace controllers
• Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
• Proficient in computer systems and software programs utilized in the testing 
equipment.
