Purpose of the Role

As part of this global mission, the Electrician will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of electrical systems within a dynamic industrial or mining environment. This position supports the integrity and performance of essential infrastructure, contributing directly to the reliability and sustainability of operations in line with Worley’s commitment to innovation, customer value, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, control systems, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with safety codes and engineering specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to diagnose and address electrical issues efficiently.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems, ensuring continued equipment reliability and minimizing operational downtime.
  • Perform hands-on electrical work involving conduit installation, panel assembly, wiring continuity testing, and voltage diagnostics.
  • Inspect equipment and components to identify hazards or defects and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Operate safely from ladders, scaffolds, and mobile platforms, and conduct work in various conditions including heights and inclement weather.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and equipment usage within a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Collaborate effectively with other trades and departments to support integrated operations and continuous improvement.
  • Provide input into technical planning by preparing basic sketches, cost estimates, and equipment/material orders as needed.
  • Support sustainable operations by adhering to best practices in energy efficiency, asset performance, and environmental compliance.

Qualifications / Skillset

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician Certification.
  • Prior experience in mining, heavy industrial, or resource sector environments is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
  • Competent in the use of tools such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and conduit benders.
  • Skilled in documenting work and utilizing CMMS systems; working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in challenging conditions, including at heights and during adverse weather.
  • Flexible and adaptable team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to participate in a rotating call-out schedule and perform overtime as needed.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
