Purpose

Provide electrical specific design and drafting services to WorleyParsons and its customers, provide technical support and supervision within the electrical team, and if required, assist junior personnel. 

 
Responsibilities
  • Deliver electrical specific design and drafting services that meet WorleyParsons, the customer's and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform design and drafting assignments on projects while meeting project requirements on time and within budget.
  • Perform electrical specific design and drafting services such as:
    • identify and report changes to project scope;
    • prepare engineering drawings and documentation;
    • check drawings and documents in accordance with WorleyParsons checking procedures; and
    • participate in project reviews as required. 
  • Provide technical support and assistance within the electrical team and liaise with the project team.
  • As required, assist and support junior personnel within the electrical team.
  • Communicate effectively with the electrical team and project stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships within WorleyParsons.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required. 
  • Under minimal supervision, performs design tasks of moderate complexity which require the application of fundamental design and engineering techniques, in accordance with established standards and procedures. 
  • May direct the work of lower level CAD Technicians.
  • Prepare detailed drawings/models for a complete phase of a project from rough sketches and related technical data requiring the application of theoretical and practical design knowledge. Establish design requirements for assigned phases of a project.  Review manufacturers' or fabricators' prints for conformance with contract specifications. 
  • Check work assigned to lower-level CAD Technicians. 
  • Perform other related tasks in support of project engineers, such as maintaining drawing schedules and man-hour estimates etc.  Determine manpower requirements for assigned project phases and monitor schedule. 
  • Provide input to performance appraisals of lower-level personnel assigned to project. 
  • Support field assignments as required.
 What you will bring 
Technical and Industry Experience
  • Effective technical and practical electrical design and drafting skills ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to WorleyParsons and its clients.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
  • Competent skills in design software.
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
  • CADD skill proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Must be proficient in the design of raceways and equipment layout.
  • 3D modeling experience a plus.
 
Required:
A recognized and relevant design qualification or equivalent.
