The Document Manager will lead the implementation of the OpenText™ Documentum™ Content Management for Engineering system on a major engineering project. Key responsibilities include driving system customization, validating requirements, performing user acceptance testing (UAT), and execute data migration from the legacy system including metadata mapping and validation.
Following commissioning, the Document Manager will serve as the EDMS administrator, lead knowledge transfer and user support, and manage the project’s document control team to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient document management practices.
Duties and responsibilities
- Participate in the customization and setup phase by providing and validating business and technical requirements and ensure alignment with internal standards and project requirements.
- Lead system testing, commissioning, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Plan, lead and execute data migration from the legacy document management system to OpenText™ Documentum™ and ensure quality, integrity, and traceability of migrated content including accurate metadata mapping and validation.
- Act as the primary administrator for the EDMS (OpenText™ Documentum™).
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the project document management team.
- Ensure document management practices align with project requirements and company policies and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in document management within engineering, construction, or industrial projects.
- Proven experience with OpenText™ Documentum™.
- Experience in conducting user training and leading knowledge transfer initiatives
- Experience with similar EDMS platforms (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint, Meridian) will be considered as an advantage.
- Strong understanding of EDMS configuration, metadata, security roles, and workflows.
- Familiarity with ISO standards for document control (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 15489).
- Proficiency in MS Office and standard project collaboration tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
Special Job requirements
- Certification in OpenText™ Documentum™ administration or configuration.
- Experience with complex engineering projects (e.g., energy, infrastructure, nuclear).
- Experience delivering user training and developing technical documentation.
