We are looking for an experienced Operations Director responsible to oversee operations of Mega size projects. You will provide direction and leadership to encourage the effective completion of projects within a portfolio of work. Your leadership in diverse environments, expertise in large projects in Project Management and a strong commercial acumen will be key in driving operational excellence at the location.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides direction and leadership to encourage the effective completion of projects within a portfolio of work. Maintain and improve portfolio management and delivery processes, systems and tools to enable the delivery of customer objectives. Implement portfolio key performance indicators and monitors performance, with focus on value and continuous improvement. Maintains an integrated view of the customers objectives, leveraging synergies and resources across the entire portfolio. May support customer to implement selection and prioritization for projects in portfolio.
- Assigns project work and gives technical guidance to people assigned to work on large to mega sized projects. Reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy. May have direct and indirect reports and authority for performance evaluations impacting pay. May make recommendations concerning selection, training, rating and discipline of people
Specific Accountabilities:
- Leadership, development support and coaching of CEO-5 Managers within the Function.
- Demonstrate behavior and business practices commensurate with a culture of world’s best health, safety and environmental performance.
- Ensure close functional connection and collaboration exists between the Location, Region and Global disciplines to deliver world class services and solutions to our customers and industry.
- Ensure that internal monthly review of resource allocation is taking place in accordance with Worley Way and is effective in planning and allocating the best resources in support of projects and business requirements.
- Ensure effective resource management process is implemented across the function that optimizes the talent and development of people across the Location.
- Actively support Sales in the Technical and Execution strategy elements development and key resource selection for new prospects/proposals to secure and deliver future work.
- Ensure the internal monthly review of Location Projects is taking pace (non-portfolio projects) in accordance with Worley Way, Actively engage in Location projects delivery KPIs.
- Monitor chargeability and resourcing levels whilst effectively considering the Location’s strategic business outlook and approach.
- Ensure the growing capability of our people in the function.
- Talent Management.
- Champion and drive workforce performance reviews, development planning and implementation of plans.
- Drive the implementation of new company processes, systems and capability enhancements.
Essential Skills and Experience
- A full-time Bachelor Degree in any Engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- Minimum 20 years experience in Oil & Gas Industry related to Project Delivery, with a minimum of 10 years in a project management role.
- Excellent people management skills such as leadership, team, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills.
- The ability to make difficult decisions and lead and mange others in changing business conditions. Extensive technical, practical and commercial experience, including proven ability in managing large teams and the development of employees.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to develop high performance culture and unlock opportunities for our people.
- Strong interest in the development of our people and how it is critically important to the success of Worley, our customers and themselves.
