We’re bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
At Worley, we are delivering sustainable change across the global energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. As we support our customers in transitioning to a low-carbon future while delivering on today’s energy needs, we are seeking a Director of Completions & Commissioning to lead complex project delivery across planning, commissioning, start-up, and operational readiness. This leadership role will be instrumental in ensuring project safety, functionality, and operability, aligning with our ambition to be globally recognized for sustainability solutions.

This position represents a critical touchpoint between innovation and implementation, leading multidisciplinary teams to drive operational excellence and deliver on Worley’s purpose of creating a more sustainable world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and direct commissioning and start-up strategy for major projects across the lifecycle—from engineering design through operations readiness and site execution.
  • Establish and manage all completions, commissioning, and start-up plans in alignment with project goals and sustainability objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to influence design for operability, maintainability, and safety performance.
  • Coordinate cross-functional integration between construction, commissioning, operations, and asset owners to ensure a unified approach to project execution.
  • Oversee site mobilization and direct on-site completions and commissioning activities, ensuring readiness for start-up and sustained operation.
  • Provide leadership and strategic input to ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and operational requirements.
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor and decision-maker on key completions and commissioning matters, supporting delivery excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams with an emphasis on inclusivity, development, and collaboration.
  • Promote and implement systems, tools, and processes that support digital transformation and sustainable performance.
  • Actively contribute to organizational change initiatives that align with Worley’s transformation toward a solutions-based, sustainability-led future.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSET

  • Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience in large-scale industrial project execution.
  • Extensive experience in commissioning, completions, and operational readiness, including progressive leadership responsibility on major projects.
  • Proven ability to manage the interface between engineering, construction, and commissioning across global, multidisciplinary environments.
  • Deep understanding of industry safety standards, operational practices, and regulatory compliance within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership in directing large, complex projects with a commitment to delivering outcomes aligned with sustainability and operational goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • High-level decision-making and troubleshooting capabilities, balancing strategic vision with day-to-day operational execution.
  • Knowledge and application of advanced completions systems, digital project delivery tools, and integrated commissioning management platforms.
