Deputy Project Controls Manager - RAK

Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Control & Budget Management
Assist in the development, monitoring, and forecasting of project budgets and cost reports.
Review contractor claims, change orders, and progress payments.
Support the implementation of cost control systems and ensure proper coding and cost capture.
2. Schedule Management
Assist in the development and maintenance of the project master schedule using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Monitor progress against baseline and identify variances.
Support the integration of engineering, procurement, and construction schedules.
3. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Prepare regular project control reports including cost, schedule, productivity, and earned value metrics.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and highlight critical deviations to senior management.
Ensure timely and accurate data collection and analysis from site teams.
4. Risk & Change Management
Support the identification and tracking of project risks and opportunities.
Assist in maintaining the project risk register and supporting mitigation planning.
Review and assess change requests, and track project changes through change control processes.
5. System & Compliance Oversight
Ensure adherence to company project control standards, procedures, and tools.
Support audits, compliance checks, and reporting obligations to internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project control processes on site.
6. Leadership & Team Support
Support and mentor junior project control staff.
Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement, and commercial teams to align data and plans.
Step in to represent the Project Controls Manager in their absence when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or a related field.
Experience in project controls, with similar site-based or leadership support role.
Proven experience with large-scale construction and/or mining projects.
Proficiency in scheduling and cost control tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP, Prism, EcoSys, or similar).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), cost forecasting, and risk analysis.
