Commissioning Process Area Lead

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage commissioning activities for assigned process units or areas, ensuring compliance with project specifications and procedures.

Develop detailed commissioning execution plans, schedules, and resource requirements for the process area.

Coordinate with construction, operations, engineering, and other discipline leads to ensure seamless handover of systems and subsystems.

Supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including flushing, cleaning, leak testing, functional testing, and startup support.

Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with safety and quality standards, and that risk assessments and work permits are in place.

Lead and participate in system walkdowns, punch listing, and mechanical completion verification.

Liaise with vendors and OEMs for equipment testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification.

Track progress and report daily and weekly commissioning status, identifying any delays or critical issues.

Ensure documentation is maintained and that commissioning records, checklists, and handover packages are completed and submitted.

Support the development and training of operations personnel during commissioning and startup phases.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.

Experience in commissioning and startup of large-scale industrial facilities.

Proven experience leading commissioning efforts in a specific process area or unit.

Strong understanding of P&IDs, process flow diagrams, control philosophies, and commissioning workflows.

Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, IEC, ISA) and commissioning systems (e.g., CMS tools).

Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities on a fast-paced construction site.

Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are highly preferred.
