Commercial Tire Technician (Rotational Schedule) Prudhoe Bay, AK
This is a remote/ rotational position, working in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:
Performs tire repair or replacement on equipment ranging in size from light duty vehicles through earth moving equipment at the shop and various locations throughout the field.
Essential Job Functions:
· Performs tire repair or replacement on vehicles and heavy equipment; both in the tire shop and in the field.
· Drives a tire truck to remote areas where equipment may be located.
· Uses jacks, hoists, and other lifting devices to raise equipment, uses pneumatic and hand tools to remove and replace wheels and uses tire machines to remove tires from rims.
· Performs tire repairs and balancing as required.
· Prepares inventory of repaired flats on rims to use as backup in shop (if there is one on site), whether transporting them to the field to fix flats or replace them with tires that are flat and brought in for replacement.
· Works with Parts department and other Tire Technicians on maintaining new tire inventory.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Thorough understanding of tire repair and replacement techniques and processes.
· Knowledge of tools and equipment necessary to repair and/or replace tires.
· Ability to operate tools and equipment necessary to repair and/or replace tires.
· Ability to repair or replace tires in a shop.
· Ability to repair or replace tires in an arctic environment.
· Ability to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to; policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
· Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
· Standing for prolonged periods of time.
· Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
· Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
· Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
· Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
· Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
· Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
· Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
· Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Minimum Qualifications:
· 2-3 years’ experience in the field repairing and replacing tires, either for a commercial vendor or heavy construction equipment company.
· High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
· Valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
· North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
· One (1) year of North Slope oilfield or arctic experience.
