What you’ll do

Key Responsibilities:
Assigned to PMC Contracts Department reporting to PMC Contracts Lead actively supporting the implementation of the Contract and Management strategy during post-award project execution and project close-out phases for both EPC Contracts. Works cross-functionally to ensure contract compliance and administration integrity for the benefit of the client. 
This position shall be required on site for the duration of the project including final account and close out phases.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within the project team to aid the management and administration of the contracting strategy for the EPC prime contract(s) including in-depth knowledge and understanding of contractor’s major subcontracts and their performance on the project.
  • Day tot day management of all non-technical project activities such that the project delivery team is consistently provided with accurate, timely and relevant information for appropriate decision making.
  • Support the Contracts Lead to effectively manage the contract and commercial strategies for prime contract administration.
  • Liaise with Claims team to coordinate appropriate administration in order to mitigate the impact of claims, change orders and delays.
  • Support the development and implement change management processes and procedures to facilitate identification of commercial exposures and potential changes. 
  • Lead/assist as required in the negotiations of change orders and any required contract amendment discussions and drafting of appropriate contract provisions to safeguard the client for the success of the project.
  • Draft required notifications, letters and any additional contract documents.
  • Support positioning of the company for all contracts and commercially related aspects of the project; coordinate with project management, project controls, claims and procurement, legal and third-party specialists to support and manage the identifications, evaluation and negotiation claims and counter claims through thorough understanding and administration of the contract.
  • Contribute and monitor project contractual/commercial/financial performance and risks/opportunities.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure contractors are working within established contractual commercial terms.
  • Monitor project’s cost and schedule and related financial items and provide direction to the project leadership team to ensure consistent contract performance.
  • Assist with the development of commercial/contractual orientation for the project personnel.
  • Provide input to Contracts Lead for appropriate tools and learning resources, and Commercial Management policies and procedures for continued improvement.
  • Contribute to identification and collation of specific projects lessons learned and best practices and feedback to Contracts Lead and client management team.
  • Participate in the appropriate project meetings with Owner and Contractor’s as required. 
About You:
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in contracts/claims within the onshore, chemical and mining industries
  • Experienced with leading a team of Contracts and Procurement engineers through early works, FEED and EPC stages of projects.
  • Experience working in both Project management Consultancy and Integrated Project Management Teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and advisory skills.
  • Ability to work with Licensors and Contractors to guide and manage them to achieve Owner’s project goals
