Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate coating teams during surface preparation and application of anti-acid protective coatings.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, coating specifications, and method statements.
- Monitor environmental conditions and surface profiles to ensure optimal coating performance.
- Conduct inspections and testing (DFT, adhesion, holiday testing) to verify coating integrity.
- Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials usage, and inspection reports.
- Liaise with project engineers, QA/QC personnel, and client representatives.
- Train and mentor coating applicators and helpers on best practices and safety protocols
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or technical certification in coatings, corrosion engineering, or related field.
- Experience in industrial coating supervision, with emphasis on acid-resistant systems.
- Familiarity with coating standards (SSPC, NACE, ISO).
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques (abrasive blasting, chemical cleaning).
- Proficient in using inspection tools (DFT gauges, hygrometers, surface profile comparators).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in challenging environments and manage multiple teams.
Preferred Certifications:
- NACE Level 1 or 2 Coating Inspector
- SSPC Protective Coatings Specialist (PCS)
- OSHA or equivalent safety training
