BOP Structural Superintendent

Qualifications / Skillset

• Trade qualification or university degree in civil/structural engineering or construction management, combined with relevant field-based experience in structural works.

• Typically brings ten or more years of experience in structural supervision or related roles within the energy, chemicals, or resource industries.

• Deep working knowledge of structural construction practices, standards, and materials, including steel and concrete works, temporary structures, and heavy lifting operations.

• Proven ability to supervise teams in dynamic field environments, including subcontractor coordination and multidisciplinary integration.

• Familiarity with structural engineering drawings, construction specifications, and associated codes and regulations.

• Strong understanding of construction safety, environmental management, and quality control systems as applied to structural disciplines.

• Ability to make practical decisions independently within the scope of responsibility, escalating complex issues to engineering or project leadership as needed.

• Effective communicator with strong coordination, planning, and reporting skills; comfortable working across disciplines and cultures.

• Proficient in the use of construction tracking tools, reporting platforms, and digital documentation systems relevant to structural works.
