Manager, Advanced Work Packaging

Role Context:

Worley are looking to engage a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Construction Team in the EMEA region.

The Advance Works Packaging (AWP) Manager will be responsible for driving development, implementation and tracking the deployment of AWP for projects during the early planning phases (pre-FEED & FEED) through to Detailed Design and Construction Execution. This includes ensuring alignment between all Project stakeholders, including Project Controls, Engineering, Supply Chain and Construction teams.

As Projects progress to the EPC / EPCM phase, the AWP Manager will be responsible for providing AWP implementation support throughout detailed design and into the field to set up and manage the Workface Planning (WFP) team.

Work location will be working in the office in Casablanca, Morocco, with attendance of face-to-face meetings as required based on the location of EPC / EPCM scopes.

Role will report to the regional AWP Lead.

You'll be:

  •        Understanding and implementing corporate AWP procedures and practices.
  •        Developing and implementing AWP project plans.
  •        Ensure all Work Packaging data is effectively managed and maintained in a central location using globally deployed AWP technologies.
  •        Participate in all schedule development interactive planning sessions.
  •        Facilitate the development of the Construction Work Areas (CWA), Path of Construction (PoC) and Construction Work Packages (CWP).
  •        Assist in the development of Engineering Work Package’s (EWP) and ensuring the procurement work process tracks material and related material appropriately to corresponding CWPs.
  •        Assist project controls in developing the AWP compliant Level 3 schedule.
  •        Guide the Workface Planning Team in the development of Installation Work Packages (IWPs) using Worley’s O3 AWP tool.
  •        Development of Work Package Release Plans.
  •        Ensuring Virtual Construction Model (VCM) is properly implemented.
  •       Fostering alignment between Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, and Commissioning teams.
  •        Tracking and reporting on alignment between engineering activities and the Path of Construction.
  •        Tracking and reporting alignment between procurement activities and the Path of Construction.
  •        Facilitating visualization of material status tracking for each CWP in conjunction with Materials Management.
  •        Providing expertise and mentorship to project team members.
  •        Working with Subcontractors to ensure that WFP is implemented effectively.
  •        Working with Supply Chain personnel to ensure that AWP requirements are effectively and clearly written into contracts with Vendors and Subcontractors.
  •        Developing and implementing project training requirements and plans.
  •        Reviewing reports and identifying performance improvement opportunities.
  •        Providing reports to the Home Office AWP Manager, Project Management, and Construction Management Teams.
  •        Auditing AWP compliance and performance and providing feedback.

You'll have:

  •        Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  •        Several years experience in a professional construction or energy related field – Field & Home Office: at least one project demonstrating full implementation of AWP.
  •        Working knowledge and experience of systems, tools and processes.
  •        Thorough understanding of the engineering process and deliverables.
  •        Thorough understanding of the procurement process and deliverables.
  •        Knowledge of the construction process and deliverables.
  •        Proven ability to lead groups and manage personnel. 
  •        Strong communication, networking, collaboration and well-developed team-working skills, especially in multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams. Being able to work with various sub-teams to resolve issues and reach decisions that are in the best interests of the integrated project team.
  •        Strong MS office and reporting skills.
  •        Experience working as a lead workface planner.
  •        Experience working as a lead field engineer.
  •        Experience working as a lead project engineer (at least one is required, but multiple are preferred).
