As a Western Australia Geosciences Lead, you will be responsible for leading our Geosciences efforts in Perth, managing and growing our team. We’re looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist to continue our growth, while maintaining an environment that cultivates the sharing of knowledge and strong mentorship.

What you’ll do
We are looking for a Western Australia Geosciences Lead to join our team in Perth.
The role responsibilities include:
Actively promotes and leads a culture of zero harm and safety focus within the Worley business.
Demonstrate effective leadership, people management, and team-building skills.
Foster teamwork, communication, coaching, mentoring, and staff development to build a high-performing, engaged team.
Catalyse the growth of our Australia West Geosciences Practice through tenaciously identifying and converting market opportunities through a broad customer network and acting as a customer focal point.
Act as a key customer liaison and support business development through Geosciences strategy execution, proposal management, and opportunity conversion.
Work with and collaborate with other parts of the Worley business (both locally and globally) to support future opportunities.
Possess deep industry knowledge in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology.
Provide technical mentorship and stewardship to enhance team capability and broaden service offerings across the Worley business, both locally and globally.
Support project delivery through oversight, project management, and adherence to corporate safety, quality, business development, and engineering standards.
Lead and support proposal and project budgeting.
Have strong project delivery experience through sound customer engagement, as well as strong commercial and technical capabilities.
Maintain strong internal and external relationships with contractors, customers and other Worley Consulting/Worley personnel, manage team workload to ensure a balanced distribution of work and prevent bottlenecks or under-utilisation, and support internal requests for resources from other teams, ensuring appropriate matches based on skillsets, availability, and priorities.
Collaboratively work with other leads in the Environment & Sustainability Hub, in addition to Transport Infrastructure and Logistics (TIL) Energy, Chemicals and Resources (ECR) Hubs and Worley Services teams, as appropriate.
What you’ll have
Extensive experience in geotechnics and/or engineering geology, including in a consulting environment, supported by post-graduate tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and a preference for recent publication history.
Strong interpersonal skills, established customer/industry networks, demonstrated business development experience and be capable of securing work related to relevant technical studies.
Well-developed project management skills including budget and schedule control, and sub-consultant management.
Demonstrable ability to lead and grow a small team, with highly effective people management and leadership skills.
Highly effective project management skills including the ability to plan, set goals, manage time, set priorities, allocate and manage resources, accountabilities and budget.
Strong “seller-doer” mindset with experience in building new customer relationships, manage/support existing customer relationships, and win work for our Geosciences business.
Skilled in preparing proposals, writing technical reports, and contributing to technical publications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and group.
Registration with appropriate professional institutions and should have excellent organizational and time management skills.
Willingness and ability to travel locally and internationally to project sites, as required.
