As part of the Worley Graduate Community and under supervision and mentorship within the civil engineering department, you will assist in the delivery of engineering services to Worley and our customers.
Transport Civil Engineering Intern
Accountabilities:
· Deliver transport engineering services that meet Worley', its customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
· Work on transport planning solutions and Excel models.
· Assist in presentations and project proposals.
· Perform transport consultancy and engineering services such as: contribute to appropriate studies, analyses and recommend actions; and assist with the preparation of conceptual designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations and reports.
· Communicate effectively with the Land Transport & Logistics team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
· Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance if required.
Academic Background:
· Graduated from a university degree (and maybe a masters degree) in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transport, or an equivalent field.
Languages:
· Proficient in spoken and written English.
Experience:
· May have Vacation Student/ Internship experience in an engineering environment.
Technical Knowledge:
· Technical and practical civil engineering skills with focus in Land Transport.
· Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of Transport Engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
· Developing skills in civil engineering specific software.
· Some skills in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
· Some skills in te use of Excel, PowerBI and GIS skills.
· Previous experience in transport simulation packages such as VISUM, VISSIM, AIMSUN, SIDRA, EMME or similar (not required but a plus).
· Previous experience in transport design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D (not required but a plus.
Soft Skills:
· Verbal and graphic communication skills.
· Time-management skills.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision.
